No proof of rent/deposit paid? Facing harassment or unlawful eviction? The landlord refuses to provide a Tenancy Agreement or property is in a poor and uninhabitable condition? The landlord has just changed the locks/ keys without notification? Some landlords, whether they be in the private or public sector are reasonable and do conduct their duties and obligations towards tenants swiftly with due care and attention. Others have been known, however, to show no regard or care. Provided the tenant or tenants pay the rent due, that is all that counts. In other cases, some estate agents acting on behalf of landlords have been known to be dishonest in their dealings with prospective tenants. Some have been known to harass tenants on instructions given by the landlord. Whichever the case may be, you ought to know your right or rights as a tenant.                                  Email:veronica@springfieldslaw.co.uk
