Are you  facing legal proceedings and have never been to a court or tribunal before? The threat of legal proceedings or pending legal action can be daunting if you have not had the experience  of court proceedings before. In most cases, you will have a solicitor/ barrister representing your case or speaking on your behalf. However, in the current climate, with so much cuts to legal aid, not many can afford to pay the fees to engage the service of a solicitor/ barrister whichever the case may be, and which are by no means cheap.  Do you need or require support at court/tribunal? Here at Springfields, we provide a Mckenzie friend. A Mckenzie friend is a  non legal person who comes along to court/ tribunal hearings to provide basic lay support. The Mckenzie friend sits together with the party to proceedings in court to assist with basic explanations only, but is not there to represent the party or to answer any legal questions or issues on behalf of the party.
